For today i wanna share wif u all about BOSOU.....

It is a tradisional food for Kadazan people....

I've taste it, n, it is superb delicious.....

Look disgusting rite, but, its taste superbbbbbbb...
believe meeeee...

Naaaaaa, for those who dunno how to make it, u may get the ready made one lorrrrr.....

This one is HOME MADE.....
surely taste GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.....

OPEN SASEMEEEEEE....
Yeaaahhhhh, lets smell it......

For those who wanna try it out, check out this menu....

Taraaaaaaaaa.....

The ingredients are raw freshwater fish, pangi (Malay – kepayang, Scientific name – Pangium edule), salt, steamed rice and some other optional ingredients such as jackfruits, young pineapple fruits, tuhau, etc.

How to do it????????

First, all the ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
Add salt in excess to prolong the shelf life of the bosou.
If the rice still warm, cooled the mixture to room temperature before storing.
Store them in a tight-closed container.

Storing of bosou usually takes about five to seven days before it is can be eaten.
Due to it’s strong smell and compost-like nature, it is advised to tight-close the container to avoid flies to take ‘control’ of thebosou and also to avoid growth of fungi.

Bosou can be eaten raw or cooked.

we cooked it to get rid of the smell or to make a variety of taste for the bosou.

You may add onions, chillies and other ingredients during the cooking.

Naaaaaaaaa, now u can try this on ur own.....

YOU will like ittttt....

Heheheheheeeeee......

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

Artocarpus odoratissimus a.k.a TARAP

Last nite during BORNEO NITE MEETING some of da exco’s raise up about TARAP , some know about it, n some bluring around, huahahahaaaa....

So, for today post, I wanna show u some of tarap picture n some description that i copy paste from WIKI

The Tarap /Marang/Johey Oak/Green Pedalai/Madang /Breadfruit Cousin(Artocarpus odoratissimus) — also called Marang, Madang, and Tarap — is a treenative to Borneo. It is closely related to the Jackfruit, Cempedak, and Breadfruit trees.

It is an evergreen tree growing to 25 m tall. The leaves are 16–50 cm long and 11–28 cm broad, similar to the Breadfruit's, but are a little less lobed.

As indicated by the scientific name, the fruit has a strong scent, and is considered superior in flavour to both Jackfruit and Cempedak.

The appearance of the fruit can be regarded as an intermediate shape between the jackfruit and the breadfruit. It is round to oblong, 15–20 cm long and 13 cm broad, and weighing about 1 kg.

The thick rind is covered with soft, broad spines.

Can u see the spine????

They become hard and brittle as the fruit matures.

This picture juz wanna show u how brittle tarap is...

The fruit does not fall to the ground when ripe.

It may be harvested while still hard, and left to ripen until soft.

TARAP change colour to greenish yellow when ripe.

Here u can distinguish between the ripe one and haven’t ripe one...

The ripe fruit is opened by cutting the rind around, twisting and gently pulling.

The interior of the fruit is somewhat similar to the jackfruit's, but the color is white and the flesh is usually softer.

The core is relatively large, but there are far fewer "rags" and less non-edible parts.

Arils are white and the size of a grape, each containing a 15 × 8 mm seed. Once opened, the TARAP should be consumed quickly (in a few hours), as it loses flavour rapidly and fruit oxidizes.

The seeds are also edible after boiling or roasting.

The tree is not cold tolerant (as is the breadfruit). It can grow between latitude 15º north and south, and in coastal regions where temperatures never stay under 7 °C.

It is cultivated for its fruit in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and southern Thailand.

The species is largely grown for local consumption; the short shelf-life of the fruit limits its wider use.

No wonder la people dunno what is TARAP, so, for those who plan to bring those tarap to peninsular MALAYSIA, u need to consider many thing as TARAP will OXIDIZE....

Dats all for today....

Huhuhuhu....
